Tn tropical countries it is a very common occurrence that white women cannot nurse their babies themselves. As indigenous nurses generally cause almost intolerable trouble, it is necessary in these cases to look out for a proper substitute, and cow's milk is of course the first substitute to be taken into consideration. Undiluted cow's milk however is imperfectly digested by a nurse-child, its caseine coagulating in the stomach
